Biography
Jim Walton is the youngest son of Walmart founder Sam Walton (d. 1992). He is chairman of the family's Arvest Bank Group, which boasts assets of $27 billion. Jim sat on Walmart's board for more than a decade before yielding the seat to his son, Steuart, in 2016. Collectively, he and other heirs of Sam Walton own about 45% of Walmart's stock. Jim's daughter Annie Proeitti chairs the family's $8.6 billion (2024 assets) Walton Family Foundation.
